Here's a couple of larger shell fragments I found in the 1980's.

I know what ya mean. I had a shoebox full of iron musket tools and worms back then but they were thrown away never thought they were worth keeping back then.

Very cool finds!! It looks to me that the 12 pounder is actually a case-shot fragment rather than a shell fragment, but I could be wrong. Thanks for sharing!!!!

I think you are right as the walls are thin and the space thus larger than for a shell charge. Good eye !
