Anti-Slavery Copperheads?

Does anybody know if there were any Peace Democrats/Copperheads who were antislavery? I was wondering about this because of the depiction of the main character in the movie "Copperhead". Based on everything I had a read, I had assumed that the main reason for the Copperheads opposition to the Civil War was because of the abolition of slavery being a goal of the Union cause as the conflict progressed. Also, it is my understanding that the film version of "Copperhead" deviated from the original novel by changing the main character's views of slavery in an attempt to make him more sympathetic to audiences.
