Looking for what regiment might have used a Sharps carbine. It has the usual marking such as the various patent dates,1848, 1852, 1859 (RS Lawrence) and new Model 1863. There appear to be some kind of punched letters on the lower portion of the forearm right in front of the lever, caitals G(C?) LS, some kind of makers marks, (the letters M and W). On the stock are carved or punced into the wood three separate marks, which look like they were done by three seperate people at three separate times. a 67. then a 58 and last a F3C. Finally the serial number 96923. Especially interested in who might have been issued this carbine. Thanks.

Sorry, I don't have that capability. Upon looking more closely I saw that on the left hand side of the barrel, just in front of the breech are the letters E. A. W.
