Inspired by Peter Cozzens new book:

If Andrew Jackson dies in 1813 from his gunfight with Thomas Hart Benton, do we have an Civil War in 1861?

Without him...

No 1814 treaty of Fort Jackson taking a bunch of Creek land, opening cotton lands for white settlement.

No rogue general overthrowing Spanish authority in Florida, thus delaying the US acquiring Florida.

No "corrupt bargain". John Quincy Adams wins the popular vote and electoral college outright in 1824, and is probably reelected. Clay probably succeeds him in 1832.

No anti-Jackson movement to serve as the primary catalyst to create the Whig Party. Northern Whigs were the core of the Republican Party.

No Indian Removal Act, at least not in 1830. No president defying a Supreme Court decision that favored the Cherokee.

Threat of force in the Nullification Crisis carries less weight.

No Jacksonian fiscal policy causing the Panic of 1837.
