American Precision Museum

Looks like a fascinating museum. Thanks for sharing.

This is truly a great place to visit. It's well laid out and the displays and docents are extremely knowledgeable. If you are even remotely interested in small arms development and manufacture, Blanchard lathes, rifling machines, the development of interchangeable parts, or the machine tool industry, etc. this is the place to go. It's not far from the Springfield Armory museum, either.

Lots of other history in the area, too: presidential sites as well as literary places -Longfellow, Emily Dickinson, Louisa May Alcott, etc.

I just talked to John Alexander, the collections admin at the museum. He said they had no Merrills for my website, but they had an experimental/prototype Springfield, a Sharps and loafs more. Said he'd email me all the collection pics in a week or two. I said that's be sweet. More to come.
