Ambrotype Tinting Question

Ok maybe my most embarrassing question yet. But what color do folks think the tinting on this fellow's cuffs and collar is?

The photo is a 1/6th plate ambrotype. What is also interesting is the nonstandard headgear and the trousers that seem to be the same color as the jacket.

It looks greener than the tinting I've usually seen used for cuffs and collars on federal frocks but I'm not sure if the paint has just aged weird or what.

I know some state militias used green to denote riflemen which is part of what gives me pause

So what say y'all, blue or green?

His coat is similar in pattern to a US Army 1858 pattern uniform coat. For infantry it was light blue piping. The color used to tint the piping is pretty close to a light blue.

Here's a comparison of the colors, using an image software sampling the colors.

It looks more blue than green. Is he an infantryman? Some of the older, lighter blues do tend to yellow with age = more green.
