No, image No. 10 is at Fort Fisher in January 1865. The image in the first post is somewhat earlier, at Charleston.

The best write-up I've seen about the photograph is in Bob Zeller's The Blue and Gray in Black and White which can be seen in part here. 99 Historic Images of Civil War Charleston by Zeller, Adelman, and Richter might have more updated information.

Yeah, post a lot of my animations and make LoC and other images more accessible mostly. Just did a lot of editing on this post as it had a few errors and didn't seem to flow very well which I seem to keep doing with a lot of my earlier posts.

That was a really long rabbit hole. Good grief. Awesome collection of pictures, thanks @chubachus! One picture of soldiers parading through Cambridge, MA left me looking at 19th Century trolley lines & google maps for awhile trying to unsuccessfully locate exactly where it was taken. What a great collection, ACW & other pics, I imagine it's been a ton of work finding & gififying all those images!
