After returning home from the Mansfield show {9 hours each way} and buying only a pair of Tait made SC officers epaulettes, I've scratched Mansfield from my gunshow list.

Yesterday I went to an estate sale just down the road and bought this very, very nice Palmetto Armory, M1842 pistol, with hard to find, excellent marks and finish.
I also picked up a fantastic S.C. officers sword which I'll post in the Edged Weapons forum after this.
Here's some pistol photos (in no particular order}.

couldn't get rid of the Springfield photo which has nothing to do with the Palmetto 42.

WOW!! What a find. Even though I go to estate sales regularly, I rarely see any firearms for sale at any of them. I would love to stumble upon something like that, although I probably could not afford it-state law enforcement retiree with fixed income!😪 Lucky man indeed. Now over to the Edged Weapons section to take a look at the other find.

Very Nice Pistol. Love the Glaze marking.

This is the example that all the rest will be compared to. it is absolutely amazing! You must be one of those collectors with a sixth sense or one of those with incredible luck. If you suddenly find other collectors interested in going to shows and estate sales, this is why. Now if I only had the time to look and less bills…
