A Lost Pipe

A ran across the following ad in the Memphis Daily Appeal, March 10 1863. At the time, the Appeal was based out of Jackson, Mississippi:

I wonder if the guy ever got his pipe back? I'm sure he missed it, as it sounds like a nice one.
 
In mid-May, 1863, Grant, Sherman and McPherson treated themselves to a stay in the Bowman House after capturing Jackson during the Vicksburg. The Union troops left the city enroute to Vicksburg and the city returned to Confederate control. Shortly afterward Bowman House was destroyed by a fire. The Confederate House was burned during the brief Federal occupation of the city.

I wonder if it had anything to do with the fact that the Bowman House had a very popular bar?
