With the date of August 28th coming up, I thought I would post a link to an excellent article from the Civil War Trust regarding Second Manassas, Brawner's Farm to be exact.

Excellent article. Baptism of fire at Brawner' s Farm and virtually decimated at Gettysburg. It was joined by the 167 th Pennsylvania on July 16th, 1863 (losing it's all Western status) and conscripts were added. In March of 1864 the 1st Corps was dissolved And in early 1865 Indiana and Michigan units left the brigade and the 2d Wisconsin merged with the 6th Wisconsin. Tough bunch.
