Hello everyone, I'm new to the site and I'm hoping I can receive some help. I've been planning to paint historical 28mm figures, and I've decided to go with the Civil War. With that being said, I'm trying to find some website or even some books that will offer the different variations of weapons , uniforms and artillery so I can have a general idea what colors I should be using. I was planning on starting with a few regiments from New Jersey. Were all their uniforms essentially the same?

Would I follow this typical uniform? : http://www.thortrains.com/uniforms/infpvt1.jpg

I also wanted to make sure that the confederate regiments only carried the national flag into battle, and the Union carried their regimental flag and their national flag, correct? I would like to try to keep things as close as possibly to historical accuracy. Thanks for the help in advance!

I painted a few stands of Figs many years ago. I cant rember the scale. NOW I would like yo sell them to someone who wargames.
For Rebs, I finished a brigade with extra stand, a stand of artillery and a command stand. I started a Yank brigade of the Iron brigade but havent finished completly and mounted them.

I painted the Rebs with mismatched uniforms. I painted dome barefoot and one has a turkey feather in his wide brim hat.
I have a regiment of cavalry painted in formal Virginia Cavalry---black trim & button loops and feather in cap. Stands of mounted abd dismounted.
I can post photos if i can find the images.
Would love to sale them and a few bags of Unpainted figs.
