As being a re-enactor I find that there are more incompetent people in other units & companies that laugh at other units & companies. I could classify those that do laugh at other people as being a "F*rb". I know that someone must have sent the 54th PVI, Co. A an e-mail containing a copy of my units Bylaws & Constitution (54th PVI, Co. D). Those in Co. A did laugh at me & this disturbed me. I have someone who is telling me everything about what's going on with Co. A. Some of those members in Co. A do seem incompetent, ignorant, & selfish but not all of them act like that. I personally know some of the members from Co. A & I know that they wouldn't do that to anyone because it makes their unit look "unprofessional". Those that do make fun of others are discrediting that unit & people & their own unit. If you are a leader of a unit you should very well know that you shouldn't say anything that might offend anyone or any unit.

I'm not offending anyone in the 54th PVI, Co. A or any other unit. It's just that you have to look at the "bigger picture" & make things right instead of wrong.

Wil, I don't know anything about the 54th PVI, but I agree with you that it's a shame that any re-enactors would ridicule or otherwise attempt to discourage others from participating in the activity.

George,

It is a shame. I mean who would do such a thing to anyone else when they're just starting out? The only reason why I have a "bad rap" about the 54th PVI, Co. A is because they didn't want to understand me & hear my ideas, views & feelings. I'm not blaming the whole company it's their leaders'.

They put me on "disciplinary probation" because I used their unit name as a screen name & also as a e-mail address. They also think that I might get into a fight with other re-enactors if anyone was to look for me. 2 yrs. ago I was sort of fighting with people online, because they were arrogant, ignorant & unwilling to help me with any questions I had to ask. They (both online people & Co. A's leaders') took advantage of me because I was alone. Then they said that I was questioning one of their leaders leadership. In fact I wasn't questioning anyone, but I was questioning their integrity & understanding of others. Other than themselves you know. I could name a few people that might ring a bell to anyone or might not.

Scott Kubay (Unit President of 54th PVI, Co. A)
Brandon Sedylmyer (Pvt. in 54th PVI, Co. A)
Joe Knapp (53rd PVI)

All the rest are good people, take or give a few. I know 2 people who are my friends & are in the 54th PVI, Co. A. They came to me, not the leaders, about getting this & that & they praised me for helping them. They understand how & what I feel at the present time.

So as a "slap in the face" I've come up with my own company from the 54th PVI. The 54th PVI, Company D Aka: "Johnstown Infantry" based in Johnstown, PA Aka: "Flood City"

Wil,

Good luck with your unit.

Having read your postings over the past couple of months, I understand that you're frustrated and disturbed over what you consider to be an injustice. But I didn't recognize any of names that you posted as being members of CivilWarTalk.com. Consequently, they probably won't have the opportunity to tell us their side of the story or defend themselves against your allegations.

While we wish you success with your reenactment unit, I don't believe that this is the place to name names and incriminate individuals.

Regards,
Ray

Thank You Ray, I have been trying to get a few moments of Mike's time to take a look at this thread. Until then I am going to lock it, unless Mike thinks it is ok.
