Edit - I hate to do this, but I am going to have to rule all answers correct in this case.

While it is evident that the intent was to ask whether it was true or false that exactly 58 of the 60 major battles had a West Point graduate commanding at least one of the two sides, the actual question did not include the word "exactly." As numerous players have pointed out, if a West Pointer was in command of one side or the other at all 60 of those major battles, then it is true that a West Pointer was in command of one side or the other at 58 of them - as well as the other two.

I was hoping that someone would come up with a source that included the list of the 60 battles deemed "major" battles, or, at least, a source that would reveal what criteria were used to decide what distinguished a "major" battle from a not-so-major battle. But though our players came up with a number of sources, none of them included these bits of information.

Actually, I guess one thing is evident about the list of 60 major battles. It must have been created by an Army guy, since he obviously decided in advance that, in order to be considered "major," a battle must involve armies on both sides, thus completely eliminating the possibility that any naval battle could be considered "major."
