Question #1--Alamance County Confederate Monument Graham, N.C.
Source: https://www.ncpedia.org/monument/alamance-county

Question#2-- President Lincoln about General Sickles. Mrs. Lincoln was not happy when she was told about the kissathon by her tattle-tale son Tad. She blamed General Sickles, and was very cold when Sickles accompanied the family on a steamer back to Washington. President Lincoln, however, broke the ice by saying he had heard that Sickles, a notorious philander and admitted murderer, was very 'pious" and "a great Psalmist. In response to Sickles' denials, President Lincoln said: "Sickles, I have not only heard while in your camp that you are a Psalmist, but I have heard from the best authority that you are a Salm-Salmist."

Question#3-- The date was April12th , the time was 4:30 AM and Maryland did nor secede
Sources: http://www.ushistory.org/us/33a.asp

Edit - The time of day when Anderson surrendered was 2:30 PM, so that information was not one of the errors contained in the original question.

Regular question:

that is the Alamance County Confederate Monument, Graham

http://docsouth.unc.edu/commland/monument/10/

Bonus 1:

The words were said by Abraham Lincoln and were directed at Gen. Dan Sickles. To brighten the President's dark mood, Sickles had asked one of his lady friends, the Princess Agnes zu Salm-Salm, to shower Lincoln with her affection. She did so by unexpectedly kissing Lincoln on the cheek. Mrs. Lincoln, known for being extremely jealous, was not amused and ignored Sickles from the point on when she learned what had happened. But when Lincoln made the pun about the psalmist and Salm Salmist, addressing Sickles during a dinner they had together Mary Lincoln had to laugh and eventually forgave Gen. Sickles.

Bonus 2:
Credit for question.

Alamance County, NC Confederate Monument in Graham, NC.

Bonus #1: Lincoln to Sickles. Lincoln proclaimed that he did not realize until the previous evening that Sickles was so pious. Sickles protested that he was not. That's when Lincoln stated "Mother says you are the greatest Psalmist in the army. She says you are more than a Psalmist, you are a Salm-Salmist." "Mother" is, of course, Mary Todd Lincoln.

Bonus #2: 1) April 11 should be April 12, 2) 55,000 should be 75,000, and 3) Maryland should be replaced with Tennessee.

Main question: This is the Alamance County (North Carolina) Confederate Monument.
https://www.ncpedia.org/monument/alamance-county

Bonus #1: Credit for question

Bonus #2 (nice question!):
Error 1 - Beauregard's aides (Chestnut, Chisholm, and Lee) issued a surrender ultimatum on April 11th, not April 10th.
Error 2 - The bombardment of Fort Sumter began on April 12, not April 11th, and the surrender took place on the 13th.
Error 3 - Maryland never voted to secede.

Main question: This is the Alamance County Confederate Monument in Graham, NC.

First bonus: Abraham Lincoln said these words to, believe it or not, Dan Sickles. He was joking about the fact that, on a recent visit to Sickles' troops, he (Lincoln) had been kissed by a woman named Princess Salm-Salm, the wife of an Austrian nobleman who was serving as a Union staff officer.

http://www.mrlincolnandfriends.org/the-women/

Second bonus: Three errors are (a) The first shot was fired on April 12, not April 11; (b) Anderson did not surrender on the day following the day the first shot was fired. He surrendered two days after the first shot, on April 14; (c) Maryland did not vote in favor of secession.

bonus: A. Lincoln said this to Gen Sickles after a lady friend of Gen Sickles planted a kiss on Lincoln's cheek. This kiss prompted Mrs. Lincoln to berate the President and become hostile to Gen Sickles. When Abe said this to Sickles the tension in the room was dissolved.

bonus: 1. The Confederates opened fire at 0430 on April 12, 1861 not April 11,
2. Lincoln called for 75,00 volunteers not 55, 000
3. Maryland was not one of the 4 states to secede after Lincoln's call for troops.

It is a Confederate memorial, one of about 700. However, I do not know the location.
bonus:
Who said the following words, to whom were they addressed, and why?
"Mother says you are the greatest Psalmist in the army. She says you are more than a Psalmist, you are a Salm-Salmist."
credit: @amweiner
Abraham Lincoln addressing Daniel Sickles in reference to an incident in 1862 where Sickles convinced a young lady, Princess Salm-Salm, to kiss the President to cheer him up.
Bonus: Whats wrong here:
Question:
Find the 3 errors in the following text:
The War Between The States Begins
On April 10, 1861, knowing that resupplies were on their way from the North to the federal garrison at Fort Sumter in the harbor of Charleston, South Carolina, provisional Confederate forces in the city demanded the fort's surrender. The fort's commander, Major Robert Anderson, refused. On April 11 the Confederates opened fire with cannon. At 2:30 p.m. the following day, Major Anderson surrendered.
On April 15, Lincoln called for 55,000 volunteers to put down the Southern rebellion, a move that prompted Virginia, Maryland, Arkansas and North Carolina to reverse themselves and vote in favor of secession.
credit: @FarawayFriend
(1) The demand for surrendar was made late April 11, 1861. (2) The bombardment began at 4:30 a.m. on April 12, 1861. (3) Major Anderson surrendered ar 2:30PM on April 13, 1861. (4) On April 15, 1861, Lincoln called for 75,000 volunteers.

Edit - You needed to be more specific in identifying the monument in question.

Wow, three questions today!

Confederate monument in Graham, Alamance County, NC
https://www.ncpedia.org/monument/alamance-county

Bonus 1: Per http://civilwardailygazette.com/a-kiss-from-princess-salm-salm-and-how-to-forgive-dan-sickles/:
President Lincoln
to
Dirty Dan Sickles
Sickles had encouraged Princess Salm-Salm
(nee Agnes Elisabeth Winona Leclerc Joy) to kiss the president. Mrs. Lincoln ("Mother") was not amused and was very cold towards Sickles at a banquet the next night. Lincoln told Sickles, "I never knew until last night that you are a very pious man." Sickles was puzzled, at which Lincoln made the above quote. Even the angry Mrs. Lincoln had to laugh.

Bonus 2:
"On April 10, 1861"--s/b April 11
"On April 11 the Confederates opened fire"--s/b April 12
"Maryland"--s/b Tennessee
Source: wikipedia, "Battle of Fort Sumter"

The Confederate Monument is in front of the Alamance County Courthouse in Graham, NC. It was erected in 1914 to honor Confederate all solders from Alamance County by The Graham UDC Chapter. It is a time capsule with relics inside.

Quote: Stonewall Jackson

Bonus: 1: April 11, 1861 2: April 12, 4:30 am, Fort S. surrenders on April 13. Lincoln asked for 75,000 volunteers.

It was April 12 that the attack came; at 4:30 am.
Surrender was 34 hours later on April 13; at 2:30 pm.
Lincoln called for 75,000 troops.

Edit - You get credit for a correct answer to the final question of the month, KeithA.

Welcome to the trivia game. Hope you'll come back and play again.

Identify: Alamance County Confederate Monument, Graham, NC

Bonus: Lincoln says this to General Daniel Sickles because the beautiful spouse of General Felix Salm-Salm
kissed Lincoln after having obtained permission to do so from General Sickles.

Bonus: The Confederates opened fire on April 12, 1861, Major Anderson surrendered on April 13, 1861,
On April 15, Lincoln called for 75.000 volunteers, the states that voted for secession were Virginia,
Arkansas, North Carolina and Tennessee. Maryland did not secede.

Friday Question - Alamance County Confederate Monument, Graham, North Carolina

First Bonus - Abraham Lincoln to General Daniel Sickles as the general was escorting the president and Mrs. Lincoln back to a steamboat to retun them to Washington. The president made the comment to lighten the tense atmosphere between Mary Todd Lincoln and General Sickles as a result of her finding out that Sickles had allowed General Felix Salm-Salm's wife to go up to Lincoln and give him a kiss.

Second Bonus - 3 Errors are:
1. "On April 11 the Confederates opened fire with cannon."

2. "At 2:30 p.m. the following day, [which would have been April 12th] Major Anderson surrendered."

3. "On April 15, Lincoln called for 55,000 volunteers to put down the Southern rebellion..."

Identify this monument.
answer-http://cdn.lib.unc.edu/commemorative-landscapes/media/monument/10_full.jpg
Alamance County Confederate Monument, Graham, NC.

bonus ANSWER: Abraham Lincoln to Daniel Sickles, after Sickles arranged for Princess Salm-Salm of Prussia to kiss the President. Both men were in serious trouble with Mary Lincoln, and this joke reportedly broke the tension.

SOURCE: http://civilwardailygazette.com/a-kiss-from-princess-salm-salm-and-how-to-forgive-dan-sickles/

bonus: Answer:
  • First shot: April 12, 1861
  • 75000 volunteers were called for by Lincoln
  • Tennessee, not Maryland was among the first states to secede
"On April 10, 1861, knowing that resupplies were on their way from the North to the federal garrison at Fort Sumter in the harbor of Charleston, South Carolina, provisional Confederate forces in the city demanded the fort's surrender. The fort's commander, Major Robert Anderson, refused. On April 12 the Confederates opened fire with cannon. At 2:30 p.m. the following day, Major Anderson surrendered.

On April 15, Lincoln called for 75,000 volunteers to put down the Southern rebellion, a move that prompted Virginia, Tennessee, Arkansas and North Carolina to reverse themselves and vote in favor of secession.

The correct paragraph can be found under the headline The War Between The States Begins on this internet site:
http://www.historynet.com/civil-war

Edit - Different sources give different dates for the time when the Confederate forces demanded surrender of the fort. Some say April 10, some say April 11.

And, although I don't think any other player did so, I found a source that said Major Anderson surrendered the fort on April 14, not the 13th. My source is the Wikipedia article on Robert Anderson (Civil War).

Therefore, depending on the source players looked at, a case could be made that, in the statement in question, "April 10," "April 11," and "the following day" could all be considered to be incorrect. Since the number of troops Lincoln asked for was also incorrect, as was the inclusion of Maryland in the list of the states that voted to secede, you could find as many as five errors in the statement in question. I'll give credit for a correct answer to anybody who identified three of them.
