Trivia 9-24-19

I'm not doing trivia anymore--don't have time :( -- but I saw this and knew the answer right away because, well, I know my Appalachian murder ballads. :giggle:

That's Thomas Dula, better known to the music world as Tom Dooley.

"Hang down your head, Tom Dooley
Hang down your head and cry
Hang down your head, Tom Dooley
Poor boy, you're bound to die." :)

Thomas C. Dula (pronounced "Dooley"). I had to look that up.

I remember my mom singing that song "Hand down your head, Tom Dooley" when I was little. I had no idea about the background of it! Thanks for giving me a nudge to look into it!

Edit - Correct, dhh712. Welcome to the trivia game. Hope you'll come back and play again.

I generally don't count off for spelling errors unless they really change the meaning of the answer. In this case, the misspelling occurred in supplementary information that was offered after the correct answer had already been given, so it didn't have any effect at all. But it's nice that you entered an additional post in correction.
