Ulysses Sherman Grant (1867-1932), son of Brigadier General and Medal of Honor recipient Lewis A. Grant (1828-1918) and Mary Helen Pierce (1836-1927), daughter of President Franklin Pierce.
 
1) Professor's middle name - Sherman
2) Father's first name - Lewis
