It is part of the group that did the 6th GA for Olustee 150th anniversary this is the color guard. The 1st Sergeant in the photo had family in the 6th GA that faught at Olustee. So we came together and worked a year on this impression and the flag. The jackets are Charleston depot pattern. And the flag was reproduced exactly like the original housed at the Atlanta history center. The flag was allowed to fly on the original battlefield. It was the first and last time it was flown.

I attached the picture because I do not have a url to post it to. It is part of the group that did the 6th GA for Olustee 150th anniversary. The jackets are Charleston depot pattern. Neato. Have you got a picture of the flag unfurled?

My Confederate reenacting group, the 17th Mississippi, had a member who also made a hand-stitched flag of the unit's original flag for our unit for a reenactment at Ball's Bluff.

You fellows look like you went the final mile to give a great impression.

Job well done!

Sincerely,
Unionblue

Very nice impression and flag; I like the cadet gray jackets. Do you guys also reenact the Missouri Brigade?

Thanks for sharing!
I understand that my perspective has been shaped by many films and countless books, but- to me- that is what a Confederate color guard would have looked like! Well done!

Yes, we do, everyone in the photos made the, trip from MO. My avatar is the 1-4th MO at Franklin. My current research on the 6th MO will be used in 2018. There was the 1-3MO cav dismounted portrayed at FT Blakeley the first week of April 2017. We have also done the MSG. The Jac k ets Are made from English blue gray Army cloth that would have been imported during the war. The 6th came from Savanah GA right before Olustee and spent time in Charleston SC. They would have had access to Charleston depot pattern jackets according to uniform issues in SC and GA right before Olustee.
