Ordinance Sergeant Henry Douglas
Fort Marion

bonus:
On May 5, 1862, while Mexican peasants were beating up on French Regular Army soldiers far to the south, in the dusty mountains of Southeast Arizona, a small detachment of Company A, Arizona Rangers (Confederate) were ambushed while gathering wild cattle to take to the nearby hamlet of Tucson. They had stopped to water the cattle and their stock at the now abandoned Butterfield Stage Station at Dragoon Springs.

While there, Apache streamed out from the nearby rocky hills and attached the detachment who had to take cover in the nearby buildings. There is no reliable record of the duration of the battle, but when it was over, four Confederates lie dead among the grass and cacti, and the Apache made off with the cattle, horses, and mules. Today, a marker, and four stone covered graves mark the final resting places for the only Confederate casualties in the modern state of Arizona.

Edit - If the bonus question had said that the Confederacy only suffered four men killed, then the Battle of Dragoon Springs would be the only correct answer. But it referred to Confederate casualties, and the term casualties includes wounded and captured, as well as killed. The Battle of Picacho Pass didn't result in any Confederates being killed, but it did result in Confederate casualties. Therefore, the initial statement that there were only four Confederate casualties within the borders of present day Arizona was not correct, and that led to confusion among the players.

I am accepting answers based on either the Battle of Dragoon Springs or the Battle of Picacho Pass; however, to get credit for a correct response, all three parts of the question (when, where, and what unit) would have to be answered.
