Thanks for bringing Dixie Odyssey back up. It is a comprehensive researched history of the regiment. I am glad to provide any information I have to anyone interested. I have the Raff book, published after Dixie Odyssey. It tells a lot of the daily life of a regiment member and and is a good source for that topic. I have a review of several sources (publications) about the 19th Ohio elsewhere on this forum. The 19th Ohio s possibly among the most highly travelled regiments in the Union Army in the ACW. (Beverly W. Va. to San Antonio, Texas.)

The 19th Ohio was in active combat on Rich Mountain under Rosecrans, the first organized battle of the Civil War. Of those at this first Civil War battle, this regiment is the only to serve in Texas with the 4th Corps under Sheridan.
Really? I think the 15th Ohio did too...even though they weren't with Rosecrans' main force, they fought with Morris, and also served in Texas.
