The hammer on my sharps is flat but I do not think it is converted it hits nipple could this be for use with pellets or caps ? I now believe the hammer is correct but came from a later conversion original hammer being broken or lost I need hammer for sharps new model 1859 or 1863 carbine have gun gun will travel

Sorry but I can't help with this one.

Levering, please post a few pics of your hammer, block assembly, etc. David at Lodgewood has one messed up percussion hammer for $185 - just checked. The lip on the hammer end that strikes the nipple is damaged.

I'm looking for that $20 repro hammer (Dixie Gun Works or another site) so I can verify if the repair on my bent hammer is spot on or still needs heating and re-aligning.

Should have the hammer from Butch's antique gun parts by Wed. He only has four Sharps parts - three hammers and a ramrod. Will see if it was worth even the $27 shipped.
