1787 Beer Soup from Germany!

There are several types of Bread Soups on beer base, long gone, too and nobody would call them beer soups.

Breadsouper are bredsoups regardless whether the base is beer (often past due), milk or wine
The microbrewery I go to uses lager beer and cheddar cheese it has onions in it and is garnished with popcorn.

I'm surprised he says he's not heard of beer soup. Beer cheese soup's been around at least since the 1970s, when I first had it, which is essentially cream-of-beer soup with cheese in it, and there are a ton of beer chowders around. I thought beer and soup was a pretty standard combination. Maybe that's more of a mid-west thing?

Zwei (@2/241 ) is German and apparently beer soup has passed into history in Germany. Great beer, great cheese, but no soup.
