160th Gettysburg Reenactment PCWA

Good evening Captaindrew,
thanks for your answer.
My problem is as I live a few thousand km away, the following. Me 100%(if the world keeps turning until then)on 06/24/2023 in D.C. arrive. On 06/25/23 I'm going to Gettysburg, the last day of Mr. Heisey's event. I know a lot of the Sutlers that are at the event have shops in Gettysburg. But also that the participants of the event will "plunder" these shops from 06/21/23 to 06/25/23. Even if your shops are open in the city, the best and most things will be sold out at the event, logically.
Since the Sutlers make the most sales of the year there, which is also correct.
So I asked if the Sutlers would even open again on 06/25/23. I'm aware that I won't have to drive to Gettysburg for my event a week later because the stores will be almost sold out. For my uniform and equipment from the USA (W&Wambaugh&Sons+Missouri Boots&Shoes) I have already paid $300 shipping costs to Germany. Please excuse my request, but it is UNIQUE for me that I fly halfway around the world to be able to take part and see all the battlefields and museums.

Contingent on being able to get the days off, since someone else in my department is already on vacation at that time, I'll be there. About ten of us from the 2nd SC Rifles are going last I heard.

i have for the one day since i will be doing my ancestor's unit that he was in but thats for Sunday only though. the other 2 days im not sure on what unit i will want to go with. i do know that i will be in the wood line for all the shade that i can get.

Is anyone else a little concerned that the Event Organizers are either A) lying about the burn bans in both townships the event will take place in and telling people they can still build fires with safety precautions or B) are unaware of the burn bans in both townships the event will take place in and are giving people incorrect info about what to do.

The burn bans have been in place since 6/8 yet as of 6/11 the organizers are still telling people they can build fires etc

Considering that as of Memorial Day, the organizers didn't even have the proper permits to hold the event, I wouldn't be surprised either way. But be sure to register! Absolute charlatans

I think this is my biggest concern, I've also seen posts by Dustin in places like the NR facebook group saying there are no bans, days after bans have been in place. I just feel like I'm being lied to and even if I do go to this event, it will be my last PCWA event.

I was trying to get in on the event as a participant, but I cannot find a CS unit that wants me. My post on Facebook got a few laugh reacts and not much else. So I guess I'm back to watching, if I decide to bother attending on Saturday.

We need to find you a nice blue coat…what size are you? If the unit your pards are falling in with have a Quartermaster, they might have loaner jackets, kepis.

The unit they're in is apparently not a unit, per say, it's a "clumpany" of galvanived Rebs that was thrown together a couple weeks ago. At least that's what I understand.

Also I'm a 42.
