Cedar Creek has to be one of the most photogenic events anywhere. The scenery is spectacular, the sky dramatic, and the authentic camps and battles live up to the site's significance. The weather can be sketchy, but that is part of its charm. I skipped this year, but the NR and 8th OVI will be fully engaged in next year's 160th.

I don't know Allen Farley, but the coffee wagon was there. Here are my pictures of it. Maybe he is in them?

It was a great event and you should certainly try to attend the 160th next year if possible! Just to see the tents set up with soldiers drilling, marching, sending messages by signal flag, even just sitting around their camp fires, cooking, conversing, or playing music on the actual battlefield is a moving tribute to those that were actually there.

The battle sequence was good, but I particularly enjoyed the Cavalry action right in front of us. It was easy to imagine our ancestors of the 7th VA Cavalry who fought on some of the same ground all those years ago. Having the same hills and mountains in the background that they would have seen is pretty special. So, if there is any way for you to make it I highly recommend it!

I can't tell if Alan Farley is in the photo. He did have a coffee wagon.
