I was a minor player in what was probably the greatest manhunt of the mid-19th century. Although the I and my fellow searchers were not successful, we did recover a number of artifacts related to our quest. I was present in the United States in April 1865 at the time of the assassination of President Abraham Lincoln. I approached General John Dix and presented him with a number of those artifacts and requested they be buried with the president. Dix accepted, the artifacts were entombed with President Lincoln where they may yet remain.
1. Who was I?
2. For whom was our manhunt searching?
