10 Teacher Fails...

Ahem. Several. I could add to the shoe thing by pointing out mismatching earrings (last week), forgetting to remove nail polish after its prime...

Just call me guilty. As I told a neighbor who expressed surprise when she learned Neal was married--and that we'd lived across the street 10 years--"Well, I leave before daylight and come home after dark, so you probably haven't seen me." And I might add, I'm grading after school. Vampire.

But at least for a Vampire gig you have a cemetery next to the school! :skull:

I think the bulletin board thing is more for visitors - parents, etc... - than anyone else. Maybe when the Asst. Principal comes in to do your in class evaluation she thinks "hmmm decorated bulletin board? Yep. Check.
Oh it's decorated, but not seasonally or monthly. It goes up in September and stays that way until June.

Oh, I thought you Elementary folks were all about bulletin boards! :) I, too, have one. It may change some but basically stays the same..six flags of Texas, some government, Civil War, class rules, Texas map.....monthly menu and prices for pencils, pens and paper.

Not to be sexist, but elementary women folk are all about bulletin boards...at least in my building. The guys have no real interest in them.

I've been teaching for thirty-five years and that is 35 years in Special Education! Getting harder each year with more dumped upon us (data, testing scores et al) but I'm looking forward to retiring in a couple/few years so there is my silver lining. I've loved and love what I do and wouldn't have traded it for anything. BUT..... that time is approaching and I'm starting to look ahead........more time for my reenacting, Yeah!!!!
peace

P.S. I too have seasonal bulletin boards, one for Fall, a snowman for the winter and a flower for the rest of the year. I also agree with the earlier poster who stated that the females do the best bulletin boards. It's that way in my elementary school.

In one of my elementary classrooms our teacher had a picture of a bear holding the rules. A bear was holding the rules. I used to think that had to be one of the most ironic gestures ever because bears have to be the most lawless animals of the forest - they're marauders. It was like having a picture of William Quantrill holding the rules. Keep your hands to yourself. Use your inside voice. Don't burn Lawrence to the ground. Come to class prepared. .....

Yes, but when I was in school you were far too terrified of your teachers to even think about pointing some of these out to the teacher- or whisper about them to a friend. Maybe by high school but even then no one would have the gall to point out a teacher wore the same pants 2 days in a row. So weird! We also didn't have the dressed up bulletin boards, just whatever announcements were current, maybe a mitten someone dropped on the playground- stayed there until May.

You weren't best friends in 3rd grade with Janet Evans, who listened to Miss Hopkins make the grammatical mistake one more time of saying, "That don't seem right" in Reading Circle and said, "Doesn't, Miss Hopkins, it should be doesn't."

All the kids loved to go outside and bang chalk out of the erasers, a privilege that Janet never enjoyed the rest of the year. And even though I didn't say anything, I didn't either.

Oh noooo! No where to go but under the desk, too. Wonder how far she was ever promoted in jobs? Only way to go for that type of person ( since she was correct ) is bite the bullet, go for her doctorate and correct the grammar of whomever she likes. She'd love me- I just spelled ' grammar' wrong, twice.

Actually have an ex who is forever doing the same thing- emphasis on ex.
