Ten Union Zouave regiments fought at Gettysburg; 4 from Pennsylvania and 6 from New York. All have monuments at Gettysburg, some with soldier statuary. There is, however, another regimental monument that has the statue of a Private in Zouave uniform on the battlefield. This regiment did not wear this uniform during the battle, but rather was clothed in regulation Union blue. The regiment did not become a Zouave regiment until February, 1864, at which time it began wearing the Zouave uniform depicted on the monument's statue. One of the regiment's Survivor Association posed for the statue wearing the Zouave uniform
What was the regiment, and Who was the former member of the regiment that posed for the statue ?
