These are some 1/72 figures I painted for my diorama of Fort Sabine, Texas. They're 3D-printed in resin from Speira Miniatures. In the top hat and blue jacket is Major Josephus S. Irvine, who commanded at the fort when it was attacked in September 1862. Next to him is Captain K.D. Keith, commanding Company B of Spaight's Battalion. The other officers are just for the gun sections, their names escape me at the time.

Speira designed the figure of Major Irvine as a custom order for me, and I simply painted Keith as he appeared in a postwar photograph.

Another great painting job. Looking forward to the completed diorama.

Excellent figures and great painting for that scale. I visited Sabine Pass in 2014 and as I'm a big fan of Dioramas, looking forward to following along with your progress.
Really appreciate it! Very cool that you visited Sabine. The park is a bit of a letdown as, I'm sure you know, the site of Fort Griffin no longer exists. The CS built it on a slight peninsula extending into the river, and that peninsula was dug out long ago as part of dredging and channel-widening operations.

The fort I'm modeling, the original fortification at Sabine Pass, was located about a mile south of Dick Dowling park. I doubt much of it existed at the end of the war, but there's zero trace of it now.

I have no doubt at all that they would. They're a great company.

As the saying goes, "**** your eyes, man".

Those are very well done. I have always admired the patience and skill that someone has to do that.

Would love to see updates and the final results.

I have always liked to look at dioramas at museums/national parks, etc. It really puts things in perspective.

Respectfully,
Kyle Kalasnik
