What unit CS or US would you fight with during the war.
Company, Regimental or on the Brigade level.
If you want to be more specific add a weapon, rank, and task, etc...


For me it'd be fighting with the 55th VA infantry company F.
Weapon: Enfield rifled musket ( p53 )
Rank: 1st sergeant

Given my druthers? I wouldn't mind being a staff officer for Hancock.

If I have to pick line . . . well, I probably wouldn't survive, but let's aim high: 2nd Wisconsin Infantry. I don't care which company.

Let's be honest, if we had to choose we would research the one with the least combat and disease and pick them.

If I was fighting for the South I think I would like to be with N. B. Forrest. If Union I think I would like to be with Joshua Chamberlian. If Union Cavalry I would like to fight for Buford.

It would be an honor to serve in the 1st, 4th, or 5th Texas Infantry of Hood's Brigade, though I probably wouldn't make it back alive. I would probably be in some Texas artillery or cavalry unit out in the Trans-Mississippi or perhaps the 3rd Texas Cavalry.

Nate, in my expierience, if you are in the infantry, your feet hurt , and if in the cavalry, your butt hurts. Take your pick.
