It's funny, I actually brightened it because I thought it might be too dark on other monitors.

I'll edit in the darkened version and leave the bright version as just a link.

Not on my own screen, but mine tends to be off as I have my contrast and gamma boosted to ungodly amounts.

As a cavalry officer, he would mostly be wearing a hat and gauntlets. But the coloring on his face could be taken to be wind burns. I like it.

The images of him as a cadet show freckles. I think by the time he was in his 20's they had all faded. Colorizing would not have changed the freckles.
