Please us the Handrail...

I was talking to my mother about this a few days ago. Many years ago, I drove a team of horses to feed cows on the ranch. We had tractors, but they were so heavy they kept breaking through the very deep snow and we spent more time digging tractors out than feeding. Fortunately, my stepdad had a team of light draft horses and a hay sled. It averaged -40 for two weeks with wind chill dropping it far below that. Even though you keep reminding yourself to move your fingers to keep from freezing, it's so cold they freeze quickly and invariably someone had to break my hands free of the lines. My stepdad and siblings stayed burrowed in hay so they fared pretty well, but my poor hands. Then that miserable thawing process. I promised God I would leave that miserable country if he let me get through the country without freezing to death. He did and I did and here I am back in the frozen north. It's ten below this morning.

That poor tree. It looks so lonely and sad. I wonder if it will survive. Great picture, though. Stay safe and warm.

Be safe and stay warm...
Oh, I will try. You also. I haven't ventured out to shop and I've been on an oatmeal kick so my bread went stale. I tossed it out in the yard for the bunnies. There is a regular trail out there. Bless their hearts. I may get some kind of rabbit food for them. It has to be rough.
