Haven't got it yet but at 672 pages it's far more detailed than Cozzens and commissioned maps by Alexander are almost certainly better.

Being completely honest I read Cozzens about 20 years ago so I dont have a great recall of it, but I will update as I work through this one. So far I am through
2 chapters which is backstory of Bragg, Rosecrans and events that get us to the start of the campaign.

It is, and they are. Masters used a lot more primary sources including a couple dozen unused battle reports that change a lot.
