Buckles?

I've got a few buckles I dug up in Petersburg, VA back in the 70's but I don't know if they're belt buckles or horse harness buckles or something else. Do they look familiar to anyone as being one or the other?

Thanks. BTW, for prospective, the center buckle is just about 2 3/4" across.

They would not be belt buckles per say as during the CW pants were held up with suspenders and not belts. They could be for a varity of items, knapsack, harness etc.

The center buckle looks like a roller buckle belt buckle which were very common in CS service

Was there an CSA buckle like you see in the movies or was that a fabrication. I was watching pawn stars recently and the show claimed confederate buckles are very frequently faked.

Have had buckles like the one on the far right on my harnesses. From the dimensions you gave thinking either check rein, headstall or hip strap.

@captaindrew is correct I forgot all about the roller buckles.

The best way to avoid fakes is dig them yourself.

Those were probably used on horse harnesses, etc.
