Well its funny you mention that because I have been thinking recently that the "P G Mancill" listed as being paroled from the "hospital" Co. E of the 42nd Alabama is actually my Grandfather "E G Mancill" that I am looking for. He went by his middle name Green so his first name was rarely used and it would be easy for an uncaring federal to mistake the sound of "E" for "P" from a wounded man. There is no other record or documents of a "P. G." in the 42nd Alabama and P. G. is not anyone in my family so I am really thinking this is what happened. Now why his two brothers are missing, this is still a mystery.Didn't know if you had this: https://www.nps.gov/vick/learn/historyculture/confederate-parole-records-index.htm
You might want to check the spellings. I had an ancestor names SIMMONS the Yankees spelled it. SCIENOUSE!!!
