Not to piggyback on @MRB1863's post, but I spent much of my day yesterday on the battlefield visiting places I hadn't gone in a while. Here are a few:

Hupp's Battery Marker (across the train tracks from the new Lee's HQ), Henry Fuller marker in the Rose Woods, the left flank marker of the 66th OH on Culp's Hill, ledge of rocks in the Rose Woods where Anderson's Georgia regiments took cover from the 20th IN and 89PA return fire on Day 2

Thank you for the photos. I love the walk back to the Henry Fuller marker. I have always found a very personal connection to that marker. I equally love walking down Culp's Hill to the left flank marker of the 66 Ohio. You really get to see how steep Culp's Hill is by making that trek.

Did you walk the tracks back to the Hupp's marker?

I love walking back to both the Fuller manument and to the Hupp's marker in the summer when the weeds have taken over and it is tough to find the path. There is a flat rock just off of the old Trolley line going back to the Fuller marker that gets well hidden when the weeds are up. I am always on the lookout for snakes and that rock in the summer.

I walked back on the edge of what was a corn field, in the grass along the tracks. It's illegal to walk on the tracks or even along them--there was a big to-do this summer about this after a couple of the guides posted anniversary videos they gave that included being on the tracks. It's really not too hard to get back to the Hupp marker, on the edge of the field, and then into the woods. There's a worn path in the woods.

I guesstimate where to cut back off the Trolley path into the woods for the Fuller marker, based on how far I am past the first bridge in from Brooke Avenue. I know it's next to the creek, and what monuments you can see in the Wheatfield through the trees. And, as usual, I scared a couple doe when I walked into the Rose Woods.

Dang Pam! You need to give me a holler when you are heading that way. I have been wanting to do a few of those places. You can always call me at the last minute and I might be able to meet you.
and if you would like to send me your number in the private letter I'll give you a call you know we probably live only a couple of blocks from each other I'm on Roosevelt.
