I was at the mass archives and I saw a display therein for William b Appleton who had been wounded at fair oaks. Second bull run and Gettysburg. Where he died His body was never really found but it is believed he is in a mass grave in Gettysburg but many alternative sites were mentioned. Without DNA sometimes it was hard to pint point the man. This is basically a commemorative headstone which ended up in mass archives Boston
