William Fields 64 Ohio

Just added these photo's to Find a Grave Web site. So I figured I would share it here . I have a question as to what type of hat William is wearing and also was there a military hospital in or near ( New ) Caldonia that his mother may have help at . William served 4 hard years in service as he looks very skinny in this photo most likely taken in June/July 1865 in New Orleans.

Definitely a civivilian slouch hat. Depending on one's definition, some refer to it as s pork pie hat.
