In May, 1865, The South was wretchedly prostate and willing to accept any consequences of their rebellious act. Yet by Dec., 1865, the South was invigorated with a new energy; inflamed and rebellious.
What incidents or events do you think were the primary reasons for a turnabout from meekness to aggression?
