Nashville is home to the worst statue of NB Forrest ever. It is on private property and everyone here would love to see it gone. I think the guy who put it up died but don't know the rest of the legal issues. Anyway, if you go to the Facebook site of the Nashville Scene they have a thread going out who the Forrest statue looks like. The Burger King seems to be winning. @diane - I'm thinking of you.

It is truly awful - so far, this is one that all sides seem to agree on. Looks like a deformed tranny

I am not sure how anybody could see that and call it art. If they want to put a big box around it, I sure would applaud that! However, the bust at the state capitol is not bad. It's rather important, too, to remember that this bust is one of several of prominent Tennesseans - David Farragut, Matthew Maury, Andrew Jackson and others - displayed at the capitol. It's like the prominent Californians who have statues and paintings in Sacramento. Should we remove Junipero Serra from the cast of characters who made California? His history is no less repellant than Forrest's but he's still part of California history, whether you are non-Indian or Indian. So, this is what the legislature of Tennessee wants to do - remove Forrest from their history.

Removing the eyesore by Nashville...that's a public service!

I agree it is hideous. However, I do not agree that taxpayer money should be used to block its view from I-65. I am an urban planner who has fought for over three decades for individual property rights.

It's My Little Pony on acid.

I always thought it looked like a very cheaply made plastic soldier had been left in a car until it melted and was then enlarged to terrifying proportions by some sort of ray gun.

Looks like a deformed tranny

Love him, loathe him, or love to loathe him, That Guy deserves better than that.

Hey, at least it's lead to some truly glorious descriptions of it! All you forum members are hilarious and spot on when describing it.
