Congrats, @Dom71! This rock formation is on Wright Avenue, about halfway between the 20th Maine parking lot, and the bend in the avenue as you head to Taneytown Road. @reading48, you were close—just on the other side of BRT! :smile:

Thanks Pam. There is a picture somewhere in a tub in the attic of me as a much younger lad standing atop that formation with my Yankee slouch hat on. I think about that pic every time I pass there.
 
This one had me stumped. Like @Dom71 , I have an old photo of my wife standing by that rock. It was from the pre digital photography days and was in my photos of Gettysburg rock box. But I didn't recall where it was taken. I don't take many treks out Wright Avenue so it was burnt into my memory bank.

One question, is that a rock carving on the rock (upside down A)? My old photo is taken from the right side of the rock and my wife is blocking the view of that area. I have never seen anyone discussing a carving on this rock. I can't tell if that upside down A is a shadow or just natural cleaving of the rock.
