Okay, everyone, it's Wednesday! Time for the next installment of Where Is It! Going the black and white this time.

This one might be easy, if you get out and walk the battlefield. And remember, you need to identify WHERE this is, not WHAT. 🙂

I admit that I cannot recall this specific tree, but the white building and style of fence in the background have me thinking of the Slider Farm. I cannot think of a tree this size on the Klingle Farm, so my guess (although probably wrong) is Slider Farm.

Okay, I'm a day late because I was out in Gettysburg yesterday, but the answer to this Where is it Wednesday is . . .

an apple tree in the Slyder farm orchard!

Planted about the time the Slyder farm was used as a living history farm on the battlefield in the 1980s, the orchard has about six trees left, all of them old, gnarled and for the most part non-fruiting any longer. To get to the Slyder orchard, you must walk the trail/lane to the Slyder farm, then walk behind the barn. The orchard faces the open field of the South Cav field. I'm not sure if the orchard's placement is historically correct, but the Slyder farm did have an orchard at the time of the battle.

The Slyder orchard is one of my favorite places on the battlefield. 🙂

So, congratulations to @Gettysburg Guide #154 who did guess the Slyder farm as the correct answer! And thanks for playing, everyone!

Pam
