I can't make out this cause of death so thought maybe some of you who are better at reading old handwriting might be able to decipher it.

Peritonitis is what it looks like to me, with ulceration extensis as the cause. So a large ruptured ulcer led to an abdominal infection.

I believe the Cause is Ulceration Enteritis (inflammation of the bowel). Enteritis was a common old medical term.
It's still in use today.
