ditto zburkett and Tailor Pete. Please PM me on this. His listing says he has 100% satisfied sales since 2001. I admit, until I found this site, I wouldn't know to ask questions. So please fill me in.

I will give the short story on this moron. He posted the item here and when @Package4 and myself called him on it he went off and then when I had his tread removed, he just started posting his **** on other forums here and he was removed.

I doubt eBay will do anything about it, but he should be reported for false attribution, eBay suffers when individuals such as this are allowed to put questionable items for sale on their site. No doubt anyone willing to put up $40k would do research and find out the truth, but the audacity of this individual is truly astounding......

A Confederate kepi found to be a reproduction (Greg Starbuck piece) was pulled from eBay, but is now on a live auction site along with quite a few absolute fakes/reproductions...…...

I just went to report it to eBay, but the listing has ended and there is no longer a means to report. Keep an eye out for a new listing as he has had it on eBay at least two other times.

I reported it last night when I sent him the email below and below that his moronic reply.

How long are you going to keep trying to sell this POS

If it was not for him, you would not be what you are today!

Looking at this logically, if it was dug, how could the white part and pink part be so pristine and not oxidized from the soil since he said "it was dug?" I'm assuming it was cloth. Cloth picks up the minerals stains from the ground. Riddle me this.

The other thing I find interesting is his auction states:

"Only 1st IMAGE is for sale"

Since he is trying to push this piece off as something other than what it actually is to some unsuspecting buyer (although the person able to spend $40,000 will likely do research and not waste their money) what would stop him from just sending them the rights to use his image? He mentions Copyright at the end of the description, what is he "copyrighting" if not the picture itself?

I think he added the cockade to it after he dug it--- kind of like decoration---to make it look better. The funniest part is that he says it was Frank Wheaton's Corps badge. The letters on it are "W F" .... not "F W" Someone suggested it might be an emblem for Wake Forest University. He really didnt like that. :stomp:
