It appeared from reports that the Corinth area was hit hard by this recent ice storm. Hopefully everyone is OK and beginning to recover. Shiloh is such a beautiful place. Hopefully the damage wasn't too severe. They had a serious wind storm there a few years ago that appeared to do considerable damage to the trees. Even Vicksburg appeared to be hard hit. Our thoughts are with everyone affected by this recent round of winter weather. Please everyone, let us know how you're doing.

We have had several inches of a combination of snow, sleet and freezing rain since friday here in DFW. Pretty much shut down everything. Temps have not been above freezing since saturday AM, and have ranged between 12 and 26 degrees, although we did hit 33 about an hour ago for about 30 minutes. Back down to 12 in the morning and forecast high of 46 for tomorrow afternoon but it going to be a roller coaster ride for the next 3*4 days. Dont expect the roads to be fairly clear until sometime wed,

Thanks for asking !

Yeah ... Corinth, Oxford and that section of north Mississippi were hit extremely hard. This area is "down the road" from Shiloh, so I'm sure Shiloh experienced the same.

Thus far, two confirmed deaths in Mississippi.
Some counties in the region are looking at weeks (instead of days) before power is restored.

This ice storm devastated the power grid in many rural areas.

Ice is the worst. We had a severe ice storm here in central Oklahoma several years ago. I remember lying in bed at 3:00AM listening to the limbs explode and fall. It literally made me sick. Our thoughts and good wishes for everyone effected.

Ice Storm Fern put a hurt on us around Shiloh and other communities. Went for a ride around Shiloh today and they have the roads clear of big debris and are clearing small debris on the roads with a tractor and jet blower attachment. The damage to trees was significant throughout the park, even more so than the tornado that came thru few years back. The only road I found closed was the one lane Calvary and Sherman road.
