We just finished up a "Recruit Skirmish" for guests at Fort Shenandoah. Fort Shenandoah is the home range to the North South Skirmish Association and part of the event is letting guests "pull the string" on artillery with live ammo. So some pix-

3in Ordnance Rifle owned by one of my team. It's probably one of the very best replicas in the country.

We don't quite follow the drill, but the order of operation is still the same.

Great! The sound is so much more than the viewing guests expect.
 
Without a target, it's just pounding a backstop so....



Our hits- left wheel, right axle hub, muzzle (x2), left trunion x1, x member x1, slightly high and right x2. The rest of the hits (or misses) were the other two guns.
