first place - minus ten points
second place - minus five points
third place - minus two points

7. Which battle of Kinston? According to Capt. Ramsay of the 61st NC Infantry, around 400 prisoners were taken in 1862. They were pardoned the next day.
8. He should have forded the creek in several areas.
9. The rivers and creeks were flooded and the wounded might drown if they were not propped up.
10. He wore his RED flannel shirt, although when he died at Petersburg he was wearing a white shirt.

8. Burnside did not have to keep sending the troops over the bridge, where they were exposed to concentrated enemy fire. The creek could easily have been forded a short distance from the bridge.

9. There had been heavy rains, and the ground was very swampy. The wounded soldiers were propped against trees out of fear that they might drown in a puddle if left lying on the ground.
