Warrenton fortifications?

Does anyone know if there are any fortifications left to see at the little town of Warrenton, about 5 miles south of Vicksburg? I know the Second Texas was garrisoned there right before they were brought to Vicksburg for the siege, and they were shelled by the Federal navy. There was a fort there on the river at one time. Probably long gone or paved over, but just wondering.

In all the years I lived there, I don't remember seeing any ... however, the river has since altered course away from Warrenton, so it's hard to visualize where the batteries would have been.

Yes, there is a mound where the batteries were located. But it is on private property. It is not very impressive anymore.
I would love to see it because the Second Texas were posted there right before they were recalled for the siege. Any knowledge if the landowner would allow people to walk it?

Possibly, the landowner is an old relic hunter, who owns an antique shop down town. He bought the property so he could hunt it all by himself.
