The blue flag was presented to the Bath Cavalry in May, 1861. Details...

Staunton Spectator, Staunton, VA, 5-28-1861.

The flag was evidently lost by the company in the retreat after the battle of Philippi in 1861.

This company was later assigned to the the 11th Virginia Cavalry Regiment, etc.

1st flag captured was 2nd North Carolina cavalry flag
2nd flag captured was 2nd Virginia Reserves fought under General George Washington Custis Lee's Division at Sailors's Creek.
