I just got to the house in Bham and this is the first chance Ive had to look in my Goodie Bag. I was going to post this in the AAR thread but then I thought (working without tools again) it needs its own thread so that all our members can see what we got. First BD bought the bags and I chipped in the bottle book and a Big Thanks to the big boss and his wife @CivilWarTalk and @ami for the book marks. But @rebel brit and his wife Gill really out did themselves with VERY nice custom CWT Invades Vicksburg fridge magnets and on the card was a map for the west Mississippi campaigns, but then they went above and beyond and I found a beautiful framed bronze relief with a nice Thank You note. Thanks @rebel brit. There were also maps, crackers, Reese's cups.

Whoa! What an awesome goodie bag!

The fridge magnet turned out awesome @rebel brit and the medallion is beautiful! It was so thoughtful of you and Gill to provide them for all the attendees' goodie bags! I know all the attendees will treasure them. And that bronze relief is AMAZING! Thanks so much for recognizing the efforts of the event organizers. You and Gill are the BEST!

Check your mail box you were not forgotten BD send your's on :D

The goodie bags were great, can't go wrong with Reese's, and other goodies. Also the magnet from @rebel brit was a surprise, I didn't look at it closely till I got home and realized what it was. Awesome work!

Also, who else has logged on started whacking the computer screen with a flyswatter before realizing what the big black bugs were?

@ucvrelics so pleased you liked them. I enjoyed sculpting the relief and making the fridge magnets and was more than happy to contribute to the goodie bags, as I appreciate the time and effort everyone goes to in making an event like this such a success.

For those who have not seen it, here is mine doing its job on our fridge at home:

I also did not check my goodie bag that closely. I found the book on CW bottles came in handy in checking one of my bottles.

@rebel brit -- I also did not look at the medallion. I thought it was some magnet left-over from a gift shop sale. Terrific!! it looks like real brass but even better.

I don't have room on my Fridge door so I found a better place. I stuck in on my WW2 Italian helmet on display in my office.

And I think you told me @lelliott19 came up with putting the schedule on the back of the name tags. That was a stroke of genius! I consulted it throughout the entire event!!!

I did, too. Much appreciated, especially since I'm scatterbrained and can't manage to grab a schedule otherwise! @lelliott19 you rock!!!

I didn't realize @rebel brit put so much work into making the magnets, my compliments, and thanks for that.

Another person I must take my hat off to is @ucvrelics not only for all his hard work, but the bottle books. The book is most helpful, and has caused me to attempt kicking myself in the rear as hard as I can. I've come to the realization a whole big stash of old bottles my brother and I found when we were young, and consequently used for targets for our pistols, were CW era. I found out soon after that lapse in young judgement it was bad, now I know at least three were CW era.

Thank-you all! It was a memorable tour and these momentoes will help commemorate this event we shared together.

I'd like to add my serious two cents. You guys did an amazing job putting this together. @ucvrelics I think you did an admirable job keeping us in line and on time, and I loved your McArdle connection. I did this stuff (organizing, putting together tours, etc.) for almost 30 years as a teacher and county agent) and it's pretty much like herding really independent cats. You, @bdtex, and the rest were wonderful. I got to fulfill one of my bucket list items by going to Greenwood and standing on the ramparts of Fort Pemberton, pretty much where the Sanders boys blew themselves up--Greenwood deserves a visit, guys--both for Pemberton and for the rest of the neat Civil War stuff. Just traveling up there with @Mark F. Jenkins was a treat. He and @AndyHall taught me all I know about floaty things, and I'm actually beginning to get it! @redbob Great job! Food was great, seeing James N. is always great, and getting to know the rest of you was a treat. I have new friends like @luinrina (Marcellus is thrilled he has a new friend in Germany!), and meeting the lovely @rebel brit and his more lovely wife was great. I'm so happy @archieclement was able to fight through the effects of chemo to come and join us. @alan polk you're a great guide and you did a terrific job in interpreting Champion Hill and Big Black River. I'm washing my jeans today--hopefully the smell of death will come out! :D

I've been to two of these events. Wish I could go every year. It shows us that other members love the same things we do...learning about history with all its warts. I've been to Vicksburg with and without you guys--and I can testify that with is best. We appreciate all the helping hands up hills and down hills, moving over on benches, and those life-saving cheese and PB crackers! I know I've left names out, but all of you are special. I laughed a lot Saturday night (you know who you guys are!) and enjoyed every single moment. @DixieRifles, I am going to take a shot at putting the Raider together with the help of an 8 year old, and we might call upon you for some help with wardrobe...
