Vicksburg Finds

Hunting near the river I pulled a couple of finds from a Union occupied camp:

This was a first for me - this is part of a Union officer's shoulder insignia strap.

I'm sure a soldier was crying when he lost this - An 1851 New Orleans minted half dime in pretty good shape.

It's been dry over here and the farmer's are just starting to harvest their crops now.
