This story (from April 2016) is odd because the work being discussed in the article actually occurred and was covered in the press in at the time of the fieldwork, in the fall/winter of 2012/13. At the time, research into William Healy and John Cleary proved to be a bit of a dead end, as the team could not identify any relatives or descendants of them. As far as I know, there's been no further developments or findings since then.
The team did, however, hold a brief memorial service led by the Rev. Stephen Duncan, and laid a wreath and scattered rose petals over the site before beginning work. To our knowledge, this was the first time this had been done previously to honor the memory of these two men. (Jim Delagdo is visible at right with the silver hair and beard.)
